A quick status post on practical improvements already live.
The goal has stayed the same: reduce friction so people can find a real next step faster.
What has improved so far:
1) Faster first actions
- One-tap crisis lines (911, 988, 211, 811) are surfaced more consistently.
- "Open now" and shelter-focused map actions were tightened for urgent use.
2) Edmonton-first, region-aware coverage
- Edmonton remains the default focus.
- Nearby communities are now easier to include when needed: St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Beaumont, Leduc, and Devon.
3) Cleaner map + directory flow
- Map/list behavior is more consistent and less cluttered.
- Controls are grouped with clearer labels and simpler defaults.
- Search, category filtering, and pin browsing are easier to scan on desktop and mobile.
4) Better mobile usability
- Repeated overlap and spacing issues were fixed in navigation, action bars, and listing cards.
- Important actions are easier to tap and read on smaller screens.
5) Clearer listing quality
- Many listings were rewritten to plain language with practical next-step wording.
- Service context, access details, and verification cues were cleaned up.
6) Stronger correction loop
- Correction submission now supports direct form flow, not only email.
- Admin review tools were expanded so fixes and updates move faster.
7) Content + trust updates
- About, editorial, and transparency content were refined for clarity.
- Repeated bloat blocks were reduced to keep pages calmer under stress.
This is still active work. If something feels confusing or missing, use "Report a correction" and include the exact page or listing name. That feedback is what drives the next improvements.
